Join PSI as a Speech Language Pathologist to play a pivotal role in diagnosing and treating speech and language disorders, ensuring students achieve their full communication potential. This position allows you to apply specialized skills to assess, diagnose, and treat communication disorders.
A Day in the Life:

Morning Preparation: Start your day by reviewing therapy plans and preparing materials for individual and group therapy sessions.

Assessments and Interventions: Conduct comprehensive evaluations to diagnose speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders. Provide targeted therapy sessions to improve students’ communication abilities.

Collaboration with Educators: Work closely with teachers and special education staff to integrate communication goals into educational planning, enhancing student participation and success in the classroom.

Parent and Staff Education: Provide guidance and training to parents and school staff, helping them support the students communication and learning needs effectively.

Documentation and Reporting: End your day by documenting student progress, updating therapy plans, and preparing reports for IEP meetings.
Responsibilities:

Diagnostic Assessment: Evaluate students’ speech and language abilities and determine appropriate therapeutic measures.

Therapy Implementation Design and conduct therapy sessions to address specific communication disorders, employing techniques that are both evidence-based and creatively tailored to each students needs.

Interdisciplinary and Parental Collaboration: Engage in collaborative efforts with parents, school psychologists, occupational therapists, and other professionals to provide holistic support to students.

Communication Enhancement: Develop programs and workshops to enhance understanding and management of speech and language challenges within the school community.

Professional Development: Stay abreast of the latest research and techniques in speech-language to continuously improve your practice and outcomes for students.
Requirements:

Educational Background: Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology.

Certification:State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.

Experience: Previous experience in pediatric or school settings is preferred, with a demonstrated ability to handle a diverse caseload.

Skills: Strong analytical skills to diagnose issues and craft effective treatment plans. Excellent communication skills to interact with a varied audience, from students to educators and parents.
